Martin Luther King Parkway

Project Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Corell was awarded prime contract from IDOT/City of Des Moines project. Project was intended to be completed over two construction seasons and was finished in one construction season. Corell managed over 15 subcontractors involved in completing the project ahead of schedule. Project statistics include: 60,000 CY of material moved 29,000 SY of paving, 5,000 LF of storm sewer installed.

Prairie Ridge Youth Sports Complex

Project Location: Ankeny, IA
Project consisted of 20 youth softball/baseball fields, 5 youth soccer fields, 5 youth football fields, 300,000 CY of earth moved, and 4,000 LF of storm sewer and over 50 drainage structures.

Iowa Events Center

Project Location: Des Moines, IA
Awarded four separate contract packages as a prime/sub contractor on Iowa’s largest arena. Corell Contractor, Inc. performed major utility infrastructure relocations totaling over 15,000 LF. Foundation excavation, foundation backfill, earthmoving, and site landscaping package featuring all pavements and retaining walls for Polk County Iowa.

Birds Run Phase 1

Project Location: Des Moines, Iowa
The separation of 54” sanitary sewer and 10’ x 5’ storm sewer totaling nearly 4,000 LF through the heart of the Des Moines central business district. Work also included all surface restoration of paved surfaces and landscaping.

Principal Park

Project Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Excavation/removal of existing field, outfield to -4.0’ below grade, furnish and place layers of engineered materials to bridge poor subsurface materials final rebuild of all playing surfaces with stadium.

Pella SW Sanitary Trunk Sewer

Project Location: Pella, Iowa
Corell installed over 25,000 LF of gravity and forced main sanitary sewer featuring over 3,000 LF of ductile iron pipe installed in open cut excavation through a lake bed. Job statistics: 53 Manhole Structures 1,200 LF of Cased auger bored sewer

62nd Avenue Improvements

Project Location: Johnston, Iowa
Corell performed as a subcontractor to a local paving contractor. Job Statistics: 133,000 CY of Class 10 excavation Over 9,000 LF of 12”-72” storm sewer installed 2,000 LF of water main relocation.

Saylorville Water Treatment Plant East Feeder Main

Project Location: NE Polk County, Iowa
Work began fall of 2006 on this 3 miles of 30” transmission feeder water main for the Des Moines Water Works. This project at its completion will connect the new Saylorville water treatment plat and support the future water distribution system in Northern Polk County.

Legacy Pointe

Project Location: Waukee, Iowa
Site grading, utility, and paving installation for developer Ewing Land Development for plats 1-5 encompassing commercial, multi family, and residential. In addition a 120 bed senior campus is situated within this development containing townhomes, independent, assisted, and skilled nursing facilities.

West Winds

Project Location: Ankeny, Iowa
Site grading & utility installation for developer Eric Sheldahl for plats 1-10 of the West Winds subdivision located on the SW side of Ankeny this project contains nearly 400 residential lots.

Des Moines Public Library

Project Location: Des Moines, Iowa
The Des Moines public library anchors the newly developed Western Gateway Park completed in 2005. Job Statistics: Removal of 45,000 CY earth and rubble. 1,200 LF of Earth Retention System Installation of building site utilities

Jeld Wen Plant Addition

Project Location: Grinnell, Iowa
This project included all the earthwork, and utility relocation for the Jeld-Wen Corporation factory expansion and reconfiguration as well all of the 10,000 SY pavement removals were crushed and recycled for use on other projects.

Crestview Estates

Project Location: Van Meter, Iowa
Situated on the outskirts of Van Meter, Iowa Crestview Estates contains 161 residential lots. Corell Contractor completed 160,000 CY of earth moving and over 30,000 LF of utility infrastructure in under 4 months for developer Gene Gabus. This projects earthwork package was expedited by Corell Contractors deployment of GPS equipped machinery.

Karl Chevrolet

Project Location: Ankeny, Iowa
The culmination of a long time business relationship Corell Contractor completed the earthwork and utility installation of the Karl Chevrolet Auto Campus addition. This project was completed under a stringent time frame without interrupting ongoing business operations in late fall of 2005.

Casey's Corporate Headquarters Warehouse Expansion

Project Location: Ankeny, Iowa
Working as a subcontractor to Ball Construction Services, Inc. This 50,000 sqft building addition and accompanying site work & utility installation were completed in the fall of 2005.

Super Target/Home Depot

Project Location: Ankeny, Iowa
This dual big box site was constructed simultaneously in the fall of 1999. Site grading consisted of nearly 250,000 CY of earthen material, the construction of deep sanitary sewer, and a major rerouting of storm water on this 50+ acre Ankeny site.

Menards

Project Location: Various Central Iowa Locations
Corell Contractor has completed multiple contracts for Menard Inc. Including new stores, building additions, lumber yard improvements, and garden center construction. Due to prior performance, efficiency, and savings Menard Inc. has contracted direct with Corell Contractor to complete their time sensitive earthwork and site utility projects.

The Village of Ponderosa

Project Location: West Des Moines, Iowa
The village of Ponderosa, North of Mills Civic parkway and East of 60th street, will include retail, commercial, and residential units on 97 acres including about 65 acres of the former ponderosa golf course. The development is slated to have more then 500 residential units in a variety of housing configurations, 107,000 square feet of retail space and 231,000 square feet of office space. At completion of earthwork activities by Corell Contractor nearly half a million CY of earth will be moved on this project. Site utility infrastructure will include triple cell precast concrete creek crossings, 23,000 LF of water main, 15,500 LF of Sanitary Sewer, 200 utility structures, and 25,000 LF of storm sewer installation on this longtime public golf course.

Home Depot

Project Location: Urbandale, Iowa
Currently Corell has deployed a team of scrapers and support equipment as well as two site utility crews to complete the store improvements as well as the Plum Drive extension improvements.

Lowe's of West Des Moines

Project Location: West Des Moines, Iowa
Completion of the Lowe's Home Improvement Store in West Des Moines included all earthwork, site utilities, paving subbase and featured a large 10' x 7' precast concrete detention cell system. The project was constructed from start to finish in 6 months with landscaping completed at the store prior to opening.

John Deere Credit World Headquarters

Project Location: Johnston, Iowa
Performed eathwork and site utility installation for the building addition and parking ramp construction. 70,000 CY of exported material, installation of site utilities to new facilities. All existing surface pavements removed, recycled at the Corell Recycling facility, and placed back on the jobsite to accommodate the project LEED requirements.

Dowling Catholic High School Additions and Remodel

Project Location: West Des Moines, Iowa
An 18 million dollar expansion of the West Des Moines High School included Corell's involvement to overexcavate and replace suitable material for building Music and Science classroom additions. As well, new storm sewer improvements throughout the parking lot coordinated during the school year to minimize disruption to students and staff.
